Year 4 Maths

Students' facility with numerical operations and patterning and factions increases. Not only are they expected to consolidate their knowledge of times tables, they are starting to apply their multiplication skills to increasingly complex problems. Their spatial and temporal understanding develops to enable greater understanding of 3D shapes and maps, simple timetables, and they have a clearer understanding of the role of chance in statistics and probability.

Cluey's Primary Mathematics learning programs are based on the Australian National Curriculum for K-6 and focus on core numeracy skills, including times tables in the early years, and fractions, decimals, percentages, angles and simple algebra in the senior years. Jana is able to adapt to various student learning styles and establishes and maintains an effective, encouraging learning environment, helping her students build confidence to achieve their goals.

Thomas is currently studying his Bachelor of Primary Education at the University of Wollongong. He has some experience with tutoring Primary students in Mathematics and Literacy. Each student’s individual learning journey is supported through a series of live face-to-face sessions with an expert tutor matched to the student's needs. We cover all the theory and examples needed to ensure comprehension, and our sessions are designed to be engaging and encouraging.

Our expert tutors offer guidance through demonstration and worked examples and assign targeted practice questions to help students master the topics and concepts covered.

After each session, personalised feedback is provided to help students and parents track their progress.
